Modest Mouse’s We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank.
Compare and contrast!
I’m a Modest Mouse fan and other favorites of late include Interpol, Aqualung and the Eels. Try them out, I think they’d be a good fit for you (if you, in fact, love MM)…
I do love MM; Interpol too. Thanks for the tip re Aqualung.
Both words and music (words first) have used
the cool “I Sing the Body Electric”. I guess
I was thinking about this today because of the
sad news of Joe Zawinul’s passing.
Lately I’ve been working to the soundtrack for “The Fountain”. Very moody. And can I give a plug to some John Foxx ambient stuff, an album called “Tinycolourmovies”. Great mood music for concocting prose of the surreal kind…
Keep writin’, I’ve been a fan of your stuff since the old Dell “Abyss” days…
Soundtracks can make wonderful – well – soundtracks to the day’s writing; I loved “Brokeback Mountain”‘s. And everything Brian Eno ever did sounds like a soundtrack to a movie I long to see.
Thanks for the Abyss shout-out, Cliff.
